MANUFACTURING ENGINEER


Medical Murray's growing manufacturing division offers opportunities and challenges for the Manufacturing Engineer. The ideal candidate for this position is goal-oriented, thrives in a fast-paced environment and will drive the division with a hands-on approach. The Manufacturing Engineer will initially report to the division Vice President. Our friendly atmosphere makes Medical Murray a great place to work.

 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Engineering degree (BSIE or BSME) preferred.

  • Minimum two years total experience with discrete manufacturing companies. Contract manufacturing experience preferred.

  • Experience with ISO13485/cGMP or TS preferred. Experience with class II/III medical devices a plus.

  • Experience with sustaining engineering.

  • Experience utilizing lean manufacturing techniques such as value stream mapping, 5s, kanban, kaizen, etc...

  • Exposure to new product introduction.

  • Must be able to multi-task in a fast paced environment managing multiple projects.

  • Must possess strong customer orientation with excellent communication and computer skills.

  • Have strong problem solving and decision making skills with attention to detail and a sense of urgency.

Responsibilities:

  • New Product introductions to manufacturing.

    • Create BOM and BOL/routings

    • Review designs for DFM and make suggestions for improvement

    • Review and approve ISO 13485 compliant procedures/forms

    • Review and approve tools/fixtures/equipment

    • Working in cooperation with development engineering, materials department and production management; schedule and be responsible for pilot builds consistent with customer demands

    • Be a solid customer interface representing manufacturing

  •  Sustaining engineering.

    • Resolve quality and manufacturability issues in a very timely manner

    • Consistently maintain BOM and BOL/routings

    • Review, modify and/or generate ISO 13485 compliant procedures/forms

    • Take ownership of tools/fixtures/equipment utilized in the manufacturing process

    • Be a solid customer interface representing manufacturing

  • Utilize lean manufacturing techniques to optimize new and existing manufacturing/business processes.

  • Working in cooperation with the customer, quality engineering, development engineering and/or production management; generate and gain approval of the process validation protocol and complete the validation (IQ/OQ/PQ, APQP).

  • Assist VP with quoting new manufacturing opportunities.

  • Other duties as assigned.
