SesameTM Nanomolding Machine Ideal For Molding Bioabsorbable Polymers With Or Without Drugs
Medical Murray designed, developed, patented, and uses the SesameTM Nanomolding machine in our facility to mold prototype and production miniature plastic medical device components and assemblies.
The SesameTM is ideal for molding bioabsorbable polymers with or without drugs because:
- No screw means no large volumes of material required to make parts. Also, there are no "residence heat" issues. Less than 6 cc melted volume.
- Tiny sprues and runners means less material required to produce parts, and huge reductions in wasted, expensive materials. Only 10 grams of material required to make sample parts.
- Small plungers reduce material shear incurred during injection process.
- Linear motor allows for very high injection speeds required for extremely thin dimensions, and very accurate positioning for process control.
- Sesame uses standard mold configuration, which usually requires only a custom insert for your project, thus reducing mold costs and allowing for quick tooling revisions.
- Ideal for parts in the .05 to 200 mm volume range.
